Harold Moore Luncheon – Thursday 31st October 2019

Dear Old Owenian,

Invitation: The Harold Moore Annual Reunion Luncheon – Thursday 31st October 2019.

1-4 pm with pre-luncheon drinks from 11.30 am

This invitation is extended to all Old Owenians from the Islington Girls’ and Boys’ schools, and from the Potters Bar school. Also invited are previous Heads of School, past staff and honoured guests.

The speaker this year will be Dr Adam Harris (1974-81).  Adam is a Consultant Gastroenterologist, who now has a private practice in London and Kent.

The Luncheon will be held in the Ground Floor Meeting Rooms  of the Royal National Hotel, 38-51 Bedford Way, Bloomsbury, London, WC1H 0DG.  Getting there is easy – the nearest tube is Russell Square on the Piccadilly Line or parking is available from CC Parking – see the hotel website for their tariffs: http://www.imperialhotels.co.uk/.

Lunch will be at 1 pm, but we will gather from 11.30 am onwards in the Ground Floor bar of the hotel.  The price of £38.00 covers a three-course meal, coffee, wine or mineral water, room hire, gratuities and administrative costs, but excludes pre-luncheon drinks.  If you have special dietary requirements please state these where indicated on your Acceptance Slip.

Kindly complete the Acceptance Slip below and post/e-mail it to Sandyann Cannon as above. Early replies would be much appreciated, but in any event please reply by Monday 14th October.

Please contact your old school friends to encourage them to share in this splendidly informal occasion.

Yours sincerely

OSA Race Night – Saturday 30th March 2019

OSA RACE NIGHT – Saturday 30th March 2019

Preparations for the upcoming Race Night are in full swing and it promises to be a blast! You need to book as soon as possible!

The OSA relies on the support of all parents and friends of the School to raise much needed funds for all of our children. Please do what you can to support this event.

 The fun-filled evening will take place in the main hall and the bar will be set up in the dining room (i.e. same set-up as the Quizzes).

 Tables can be booked for any size groups.

 8 pre-recorded races will be shown on a big screen throughout the evening. ‘Bets’ are placed prior to each race. The result of each race is not known until the race is broadcast on the night. The 1st Race will be run at 7.30pm and we aim to be finished by 10.30pm.

 Each race is sponsored by a parent or friend of the School or a local company *

 Attendees and non-attendees are encouraged to ‘buy’ and name a horse (for £5**) to support the event. All horse owners names will be displayed on the race card which will be given to all attendees. Winning horse owners win a prize.

 A Fish and Chips supper will be provided ***

 Please go to www.buytickets.at/theosa to book your tickets and buy your horses!

 Thank you for your support and good luck!

*There are still some races that have not yet been sponsored, so if you are able to sponsor a race then please contact events@theosa.gov.uk.

You will be welcome to promote your company or simply sponsor a race yourself. Race sponsors’ details will appear on all race cards and will be announced prior to each race. All that we ask is that you provide a prize for the owner of the horse that wins your race.

** Non-attendees are asked to donate £10 if they wish to buy a horse.
*** If you have specific dietary requirements, please make this clear on your booking form.

Venue for the Event is Dame Alice Owen’s School, Dugdale Lane, Potters Bar, EN6 2UD (Main Hall)
