We have a thriving Cricket sporting calendar at Old Owen’s Association and Sports Club Limited (Old Owens Sports Ground, Coopers Lane, Northaw, Potters Bar, EN6 4NF).
The facilities for Cricket at the Old Owen’s Sports Ground consist of 2 cricket squares which are meticulously looked after by our groundsman and both are covered in adverse weather conditions. Facilities also include changing rooms newly refurbished in 2017 and a fantastic Clubhouse equipped with Bar, Lounges, TV’s and a Function Room.
The Old Owen’s Cricket Club had 3 Saturday XI’s that played in the Saracens Herts League (www.hertsleague.co.uk) for Season 2025 in the Championship, Div. 5A and Div. 11 East. There was also a Saturday 4th XI and a Sunday XI that played Friendly matches and a Junior Section for U9, U11 and U14 that played in the Herts Junior League midweek or on a Sunday.
Other Community Cricket Clubs hired pitches when Old Owens Teams were not in residence.
In the Saracens Herts League, the 2025 Season ended with the 1st XI promoted back to the Premiership after beating North Mymms by 3 runs in a play off at North Mymms. The 2nd XI finished 5th in Division 5A and the 3rd XI finished 4th in DIvision 11 East (The 3rd XI was aided by the presence of 2 Junior players playing each week in the Team).
The League season for 2026 starts at the beginning of May and finishes in early September for all teams. League fixtures will consist of both limited overs and timed matches depending on the Division.
