Old Owens Cricket Club had their Annual Dinner and Presentation night at Old Owens Sports Club on Friday 25th November 2011. There was a turnout of around 70 personnel consisting of all sections of the Club (Young and Old). We even had the privilege of Bill Morgan in attendance having just arrived that afternoon from Singapore. The meal consisted of starters of smoked salmon stuffed with prawns or mozzarella cheese (vegetarian), main meal of breast of chicken or stuffed peppers (vegetarian) and ‘Eton mess’ dessert, followed by a selection of cheeses and coffee all washed down in between by copious amounts of alcohol. During the meal speeches were given by Andy Battersby, Tim Lane and the captains of the 1st XI (Rory Allan), 2nd XI (Graeme Keenan in the absence of Marc Collier), 3rd XI (Ken Rowswell) and Sunday 1st XI (Abdul Rimaaz) with regard to the Cricket Club and team reports for the season just gone in 2011. The reports included presentation of the seasons’ awards, which were as follows:

The evening was concluded by an auction of 3 Classic Cricket Books kindly donated by Ivan Watermanthat raised £95 and a variety of raffle prizes (Thanks to those who donated prizes).
A great evening was had by all and much thanks go to Richard Baker and Andy Battersby for organising the event and John & Lynn and their staff for the meal and drinks.
